Far from being a mapping team in the accepted sense, this site only has two contributors, only one of which ever does any real work. Between PC games, IRC and other various but unimportant commitments to our time, updates to the site are somewhat rare. Fortunately, we have taken the time to compile a list of links to every known Doom site in existence, so there's plenty to keep you busy. There is also an editing utilities section with a wide variety of programs to download.

Although the site initially began as a simple page to showcase some WADs, it has now expanded to include several hosted sites. Primarily, this was a cunning ploy to generate more content for the site without the effort of actually having to make it. As a bonus, it also allows us to bring you some sites that may not otherwise have been. Much of the content on these sites is oriented towards the Doom Legacy source port.

In addition to a large list of currently supported features, Legacy 2.0 will add many new features, including:

  • Support for the Hexen map format in Doom

  • BEX and ACS

  • New FS functions

  • Hi-res textures

  • An all new OpenGL renderer

  • New netcode

For a complete list of features, information on recent development progress and the latest unofficial alpha builds, visit the Development page on the Doom Legacy Wiki.

That said, the site isn't entirely exclusive to one port. We fully intend to offer content for other popular ports once we become more familiar with their features and have time to produce some quality maps.
