Welcome to NORTH OF 50, an upbeat newsmagazine serving mature audiences throughout the Okanagan / Thompson / Shuswap. We bring you lots of fascinating articles, ranging from Antiques to Zoos, Apples to Zen Buddhism and anything interesting in between. If it catches our eye and it’s local -- if it’s intriguing, interesting, informative, or funny, we pass it on to our readers. Our target audience – our readers – are – well … just north of 50. They’re graying a little and they’ve gained a pound or two since high school, but they wear those hard-earned battle scars proudly. Lots are still working, some are semi-retired and others are already enjoying a retirement lifestyle. They like to travel, garden, golf, cross country ski, go to the theatre, redecorate their homes, and spend time with family. And that’s what they want to read about. NORTH OF 50 entertains its audience with great interviews. It informs with monthly columns and interesting, provocative articles and columns from local writers. We toss in a few fun contests, a lot of travel, a little sports, and a little history. Occasionally, expect a bit of controversy, because a newspaper without controversy is … dare we say, boring. And it all has an Okanagan / Thompson / Shuswap flare. We’ll tell you what events are coming up in the community and the surrounding areas, too.
